In-between ou entre-deux n’est pas une place au sens traditionnel du terme. Lieu d’arrivée autant que de départ, il renvoie au voyage, à l’idée de mobilité permanente et d’échange. Il ne désigne pas quelque position figée au milieu de deux autres positions également fixes.

En ce sens, l’entre-deux est la parfaite synthèse de ce que la plateforme Place a toujours voulu encourager, montrer et explorer plus avant: la rencontre et, si possible, le dialogue entre arts littéraires et arts visuels, sans pour autant se limiter au domaine proprement artistique.

Le présent numéro de Place apporte de nouveaux exemples de pareille mobilité, parfois éloignées des habitudes et certitudes des artistes, mais sans cesse ouvertes aux défis d’un monde qui est toujours ailleurs.

In-between is not a place in the conventional sense of the word. A site of arrival as well as departure, it refers to a journey, an idea of permanent mobility and exchange, not a fixed position in the middle of two other, equally fixed places.

In that sense, in-between is the perfect shortcut of what this platform has always aimed at fostering, disclosing, and further exploring in the field that it had chosen from the very start: the encounter and, If possible, the exchange between literary and visual arts, often beyond the merely artistic.

The current issue of Place exemplify this mobility, moving away from the certainties of each artist’s own habits and practices, open to the challenges of a world that is always elsewhere.
