I initially developed the Communication Fields series in the 1990s through several video installation projects. In 2023 I had the idea of creating a series of large scale drawings questioning this notion of communication field. The drawings reproduced here are preparatory experiments for this series. They are digital assemblages with elements of different mediums: graphite, charcoal, acrylic, etc. Communication fields attempt to visualize the relational space between two people. I have always been intrigued by this invisible but sensitive space which is constantly in motion, conditioned by the nature of the intrinsic relationships of individuals.
