For Kafka, « the law » is a powerful, abstract institution. In the fable « Before the Law » -included originally in « The process »-, he describes some characters and context (as the guard, the man that wants to get in, and a few details on the outside of « the law »), but he gives no further clues of the interior space or any events happening inside. 

I wrote these small paragraphs thinking about the interior of the law. These color versions were a painting project that remains unrealized.
